CCEI Recognizes “National Time Management Month”

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, promotes CCEI770: Making Time! Time Management Skills for Administrators, an online child care training course in recognition of National Time Management Month.

It can be difficult to set aside time for planning and scheduling amid all the challenges and duties within the childcare setting. However, time management is crucial for providing high-quality care as well as achieving a successful work-life balance. Effective time management is about understanding what needs to be accomplished in order to succeed. This course outlines effective time management skills for program administrators or directors, including how to prioritize deadlines, set goals, and use time more effectively. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify key elements of time management, effective meeting strategies, and common “time wasters.”

“Time management is important in any professional setting, but especially when it comes to early childhood education where every day can be filled with unforeseen things,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “It’s easy to get sidetracked during the course of any given day in a childcare center, but in the long run, managing our time effectively helps us complete daily tasks and still achieve important goals.”

All CCEI coursework is available for purchase through online enrollment now. CCEI students with active, unlimited individual or center-based subscriptions can enroll in training courses anytime at no additional cost when logged in to their account. Once a course is concluded successfully, students will receive IACET CEU credit and have access to the certificate of completion for documentation.

CCEI training coursework is self-paced, which allows students the ability to resume courses at the exact point where they signed off previously. For more information on ChildCare Education Institute, visit www.cceionline.edu or call 1.800.499.9907, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm EST.

Common Core State Standards Explained in CCEI Online Training Course

ChildCare Education Institute® (CCEI), a distance learning professional development and certificate provider, is proud to introduce CUR110: What the Common Core State Standards Mean for Early Childhood Education to the online child care training course.

So far, at least 46 states have adopted Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and implementation is well under way across the country. However, there is still a good deal of controversy and confusion surrounding CCSS, particularly in the early childhood education community. This course addresses those concerns and provides a basic examination of the standards-based education at the early childhood level. Course participants will learn to identify goals and content parameters of CCSS, the purpose of “guiding principles” in the development of effective early learning standards, and recommended teaching practices and assessment tools.

“Not everyone understands or agrees with the Common Core Standards, but the Standards do represent a major shift in American public education,” says Maria C. Taylor, President and CEO of CCEI. “As such, the standards will impact the planning and design of curriculum materials, standardized tests, and assessment tools for the foreseeable future, so the topic is relevant to all educators and parents.”

This two-hour training course is available for online enrollment now, and awards 0.2 IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) upon successful completion. Active, unlimited individual or center-based subscription holders may take this course at no additional cost at any time.
